Museum Music Minutes

Musical experts in their field will do a 20 minute show and tell on a favourite subject. Zachary Rushing from Jazz Winnipeg will show some of his vintage sheet music and talk about popular American music from the 1920s-1950s. The Manitoba Underground Opera will be joining us to talk (and sing) about music hall and operettas from the early 1900s, and Métis fiddler Melissa St. Goddard will talk about where the metis fiddle sound came from, the uniqueness of The Red River Jig in musical terms, and will play some examples for us.

These FREE mini talks will happen at the museum and guests can stay for one or stay for them al!. If restrictions come into effect, these talks will be livestreamed to an online audience.
