Our Visitors' Centre, museum, and grounds are an ideal location for intimate weddings.

It’ll be an unforgettable experience for you and all your guests as you’re surrounded by such a unique Victorian mansion.

 

Filming on site

Built in 1895 and restored to look the part, is Dalnavert Museum’s historic house the perfect background for your next movie?

Projects filmed at Dalnavert include Season 3, Episode 4 of Ghost Hunters of the Grand River 92025; “Le Musée Macabre de Saintes-Larmes” (2024); “Anatomy of a Seance” (2024); and Season 7, Episode 12 of APTN’s The Other Side.

Meetings

Our Visitors’ Centre is a great place for your next meeting. It can hold a maximum of 60 guests and has a laptop, projector and audio equipment.

Our Spaces

The following rates apply to our regular hours of operation (Wednesday to Sunday, 9am – 5pm) unless otherwise indicated and do not include GST. Additional fees apply when booking a space outside of opening hours (ie. evenings, Mondays, Tuesdays).

 

Visitors centre

Maximum of 60 guests, has a laptop, projector and audio equipment. Has attached kitchen with small fridge and stove and access to the museum’s wifi.

Daytime Visitors Centre Rental: $100 per hour, minimum 2 hours

Daytime Meeting Package (35 people maximum):

  • Full day (9 am-5pm): $600

  • Half day (9 am-12pm or 1 pm-5 pm): $400

  • Package includes:

    • Table and chair rental fees for room set-up of client’s choice

    • Projector and screen rental

    • Self-serve tea & coffee with refills

Add-Ons

Coffee and tea: $4 per person

  • Includes self-serve carafes of coffee and tea; cups, saucers, spoons/stir sticks; cream, sugar, and sweeteners; cocktail napkins; set-up and clean-up

  • Expected number of guests must be provided in advance

 

parlour

Maximum of 20 guests, available for ceremonies and performances.

  • Package includes:

    • Parlour or lawn ceremony with small table for signing papers and chairs for guests

    • Visitors’ centre to use as a receiving area and for refreshments

    • Exclusive access to the historic house and visitors’ centre for the duration of the event

 

3rd floor attic

Maximum of 20 guests, available to rent for meetings, talks, and performances.

The attic is located on the third floor of the historic house. Access is via several steep staircases, with no alternative way up or down for folks with mobility limitations.

Rates

Lawn Wedding Package: $800 for 3 hours

  • Package includes:

    • Lawn ceremony with small table for signing papers and chairs for guests

    • Visitors’ centre to use as a receiving area and for refreshments

    • Exclusive access to the historic house and visitors’ centre for the duration of the event

    • Use of Visitors’ Centre as a back-up in case of inclement weather or option to reschedule

Fees, Terms, and Answers to commonly asked questions

All bookings are subject to a 50% non-refundable deposit. To confirm and secure your rental, the Renter(s) must pay the deposit and sign a rental agreement.

All bookings are subject to 5% GST.

Liquor licences are the renter’s responsibility.

The legal maximum capacity of the Visitor Centre is 75 people, the total indoor maximum capacity is 90 people, and the maximum capacity for the verenda, garden, and grounds is 75. The use of furniture such as chairs and tables will occupy some of the space and lessen the capacity.

Every effort will be made to allow Renter(s) to prepare decorations reflecting their creative requirements. The Renter(s) are allowed to use low tack tape (such as green painters’ tape). No nails, screws, staples or penetrating items should be used on our walls or exhibit surfaces. Any tape or gummed backing materials must be properly removed and any wall damage will be added to the final charges. Decorations are not allowed in the Historic House.

Staff may limit requests that could be detrimental to the collection. If your rental includes the historic house, make sure you discuss your expectations in detail with staff before your rental so we can make every effort to support your vision while also protecting the house and our artifacts.

Fo0d and drink are not allowed in the historic house. Renters are permitted to bring in food, including catering, to the Visitors’ Centre and grounds.
