The Red Violin & My Winnipeg

Two film screenings shown for FREE as part of REELCANADA'S National Canadian Film Day on April 19th.

The Red Violin at 2pm

Spend the afternoon with Dalnavert and The Red Violin! This Canadian film tells the tale of a very special instrument — a perfectly crafted 17th-century violin finished with a mysterious red glaze. The violin’s history is revealed through four interconnected tales spanning 300 years, and at the centre of the story is the instrument’s dark secret, which is revealed only at the film’s suspenseful finale. Part of Reel Canada's National Canadian Film Day.

&

My Winnipeg at 8pm

Join us for a cozy, mid-week film night with Dalnavert and My Winnipeg! A hypnotic love letter to Winnipeg, Guy Maddin's film is equal parts historical chronicle and personal portrait, seamlessly weaving real facts with wild fiction, but some of the most shocking stories in My Winnipeg are the true ones! The bar will be open, and snacks available. Part of Reel Canada's National Canadian Film Day.
